Our mini-stars

Twinkles – 30 mins
Fast ………………… twinkling.
Once a week – choice of 2 time slots.
Fast moving classes where your dancer gets to experience pre-dance movement through fun, magical classes.
In Twinkles, action mimes, nursery rhymes and imagination has our toes and eyes twinkling
Sparkles – 40 mins
Once a week – choice of 2 time slots.
In Sparkles, wands, clouds, marching bands and action mimes all appear at various classes.
A great mix of ballet, jazz and hip-hop pre-dance.
Our Sparkles children are having plenty of fun dancing with their friends … And our parents have the security of knowing at in2dance they’ll learn the foundation training they need to build on in the future.
Prep Starlets
Jazz/Tap – 40 mins combo
Ballet – 40 mins
Once a week – choose either or both!
Our prep class is designed to be fast moving, covering the basics of posture, musicality, technical skills, and offering some funkier jazz moves to music they love. The introduction to tap gives our prep children a great intro to rhythm and timing.
Our prep program maintains the fun of “Sparkle” class while encouraging self discipline, dancing safely with our friends, and step variety.
Grade 1 - 2 Comets
Jazz/Tap
Pre-Primary Jazz/Tap – 40 mins combo (Grade 1)
Level 1 Jazz/Tap – 60 mins combo (Grade 2)
Our Comets jazz/tap combo classes give your dancer a great foundation in both styles in one class to make it more convenient for you.
At this stage, we introduce jazz technique, flexibility and mini dances to let your little one shine.
Our program enables children to improve fine and gross motor skills, develop spatial awareness, increase coordination, listening and social skills to great music.
Ballet
Pre-Primary Ballet – 40 mins (Grade 1)
Primary Ballet – 40 mins (Grade 2)
In these classes, your child will be given the all-important skills that they need to build a strong dance foundation yet introduced through play-styled themes.
A range of music, props and movement are used to encourage creativity, musicality and expression.
Students begin to develop body and spatial awareness, coordination, posture and balance.
Grade 3 - 6
Ballet
Once or twice a week
In our younger grades, dance work, and more complex centre exercises are introduced to develop a strong technical foundation.
Focus is on posture, grace, coordination and control, and presentation skills.
For recreational students who wish to enjoy the grace and benefits of ballet, we offer a 40 min class weekly.
For those seeking more challenging work towards a deeper understanding of ballet, we offer a 2 class per week program.
If you’re considering lyrical and acrobatic classes in the future then a once weekly ballet class is your framework to support this
Lyrical + Stretch
60 mins combo
Lyrical blends the grace and technique of ballet with the expression and freedom of jazz, enabling students to gain fluidity, flexibility, and control while encouraging expression of emotion musical interpretation.
Stretch and strengthen develops and maintains flexibility and core muscle strength, and increase circulation and warm muscles to prevent injuries and develop healthier and happier bodies. Suitable for dancers and athletes.
Jazz
All jazz classes – 40 mins
Our jazz classes blend elements of traditional jazz technique (isolations, flexibility, footwork, turns, leaps etc) with use of funk, commercial and modern dance styles to all kinds of music that kids enjoy.
During these grades, focus is on increasing flexibility, strength and control, and expression.
Our high-quality training means we can offer assessments or exams with the ATOD to those interested.
All tap classes – 40 mins
Students wear metal plated tap shoes and learn a rhythmical style of dance combining steps to music both old and new.
It’s like being a drummer in a band with your feet!
We train timing, light and shade, rhythm and performance style, and we are proud to be highly recognised by Mr Glenn Wood to offer examinations with his system.
Hip Hop
All hip hop classes – 40 mins
The newest style of dance, to the latest music! Think of groups like Justice Crew! Popping, krumping, locking… It all happens in hip hop!
Grade 7 - 12
Jazz
Our jazz classes blend elements of traditional jazz technique (isolations, flexibility, footwork, turns, leaps etc) with use of funk, commercial and modern dance styles to all kinds of music that kids enjoy. In our senior jazz classes, students explore various fields within the genre of jazz, including, musical theatre, funk, and cabaret.
Lyrical/Contemporary
Lyrical blends the grace and technique of ballet with the expression and freedom of jazz. In senior lyrical classes, students continue to develop their technique while learning more complex steps. Contemporary is explored, using the ATOD syllabi for technical elements. Contemporary focuses on the natural line of the body, and incorporates body isolations and geometric shapes.
Stretch & Strengthen
In stretch and strengthen emphasis is on developing and maintaining flexibility and core muscle strength, to help prevent injuries, increase posture, and develop healthier and happier bodies by increasing circulation and warm muscles.
Ballet
Once or twice a week
Recreational students may wish to a weekly ballet class, we offer a 40 min class weekly.
Examination students must attend ballet twice weekly to gain the required skills.
At this level, students are encouraged to attend ballet twice weekly.
They are continuing to further strengthen their technique, grace, core strength, precision and artistry. Higher Grade or Vocational examinations are optional at this level.
Tap
Students wear metal plated tap shoes and learn a rhythmical style of dance combining steps to music both old and new.
We teach both freestyle tap focusing on timing, light and shade, rhythm and performance style, as well as technical elements using the Glenn Wood syllabi.
Hip Hop
The newest style of dance, to the latest music! Think of groups like Justice Crew! Popping, krumping, locking… It all happens in hip hop! For progressive technical elements we use the ATOD syllabi.

Exams
Examinations are optional, and are available for students from Pre-primary jazz/tap and pre-primary ballet and above. To undertake ballet exams, students must attend 2 classes per week, in order to cover the full syllabus content.
We aim to teach a broad range of dance styles so students learn to enjoy dance and experience a wide variety of movements, but we have chosen the RAD and ATOD methods for ballet exams, ATOD method for jazz, hip hop and contemporary exams, and the Glenn Wood method for tap exams.
Uniform
Most students feel comfortable if they look similar to the rest of the class. This gives them a sense of belonging to a group and feeling like dancers in their outfits.
The Dancers Wearhouse has a list of all your dance wear requirements. Dancers Wearhouse is located adjacent to the studio in Atherton. It is open Monday- Thursday 3.30-5pm during school terms.
